Ponca City West Middle School is the location
that hosts grades 6-7 in the Ponca City School System. West Middle School consists of
three 6th grade teams and three 7th grade teams, along with many elective classes.

Keyboarding Proficiency Test
Information:
The keyboarding test is given during
the 6th and 7th grades to any student wanting to take the test.
Students should sign up with Mr. Hodgson in room 125. Students
must type 35 words per minute with 7 or less errors on a 3 minute
timed test. If they pass, then they have fulfilled the keyboarding
requirement for the computer classes and high school graduation.

Parent Connect - Ponca City Public Schools has
implemented the NCS ParentConnect software at West Middle School.
This will allow parents to use the Internet to monitor the progress
of their students. The program will track the student’s grades,
attendance, discipline, and assignments. Parents can modify the
settings so the system will notify them when an assignment has
either a failing grade or is not turned in, when the student has a
discipline incident, or when the student has an absence or tardy.

Homework Hotline - You can call the Homework Hotline each
week to find out what assignments your child will have in each of his/her classes.
The number is 767-8034. |

Student Agenda - Every Monday during each class period,
the students copy their homework down in their Student Agenda. This allows the
students and the parents to know what assignments will be expected for the student each
week. |
