The purpose of developing Power Standards is to create a subset of the complete list of standards-Power Standards-for each grade level and for each core subject area.  These Power Standards represent the "safety net" of standards each teacher needs to make sure that every student learns. PCPS has been developing the standards since last spring. The drafts are available online at www.pcschools.info/curric/power_standards.htm 

Technology competencies are also part of Oklahoma’s PASS objectives and the PCPS Power Standards. The 2003 winners of the Technology in Power Standards Grant are developing technology lesson plans, student projects, and assessments.  Recipients are:
