ParentConnect Guide 

 

ParentConnect is a web based program that will allow you to monitor your student’s progress over the Internet. You will be able to see assignments, grades, attendance, and discipline. We hope that this will provide a valuable tool in your child’s education.

To register for ParentConnect go to our website, www.pcschools.info, click on the ParentConnect link. Click on the link to register just under the ParentConnect icon. Complete the registration form and submit it. You will be registered and will receive an email stating that you are registered. You may pickup your ParentConnect ID and password by coming to the district's main office at 111 W. Grand Ave. and showing a picture id and signing a release. This is a necessity to provide confidentiality to your student's records.

This program will allow parents to monitor their children's progress in school. ParentConnect will track grades, attendance, health, and discipline. To logon to ParentConnect, go to the district's webpage www.pcschools.info and click on the ParentConnect link. This will give you the ParentConnect Welcome screen. Click on the ParentConnect icon. This will give you the login screen. Enter your ParentConnect id and password. This will bring up your student's information. If you get a message that says that it cannot get the student's information, please wait for 24 hours and try again. If you still have problems, please call and we will help you get logged in. When you log on for the first time, click on settings in the upper right hand corner. This will allow you to change your password and to select the alerts that you want to be notified on. The selections are for attendance, discipline, missing assignments, and failing assignments. If you put a check in the box by these alerts, then when your student has one of these incidents, you will receive an email from ParentConnect. We must have your email address for this to work correctly.

On the main screen, there are several selections on the pencils. The first is Student Info. Student Info gives you the basic information about the student. There are several tabs that you can select to see the various data. The next pencil is Assignment. The Assignment will have two tabs. The first one is Assignment. Click on it and it will bring up the assignments for the period indicated in the drop-down box in the top center of the page. Click on the down-arrow and select the time that you want. If assignments do not appear, click on the drop-down box and select "This School Year." This will show the assignments for the entire year. The other tab is Schedule. When you select the Schedule tab, it will show you the current schedule and the current grades that your child has in that class. The Grade pencil will show the report card grades for the period selected. If grades have not been recorded for that period, then the grade column will be blank. The other tab is Course History, and it shows all of the courses and grades that are in the transcript file. The Learning pencil will show the mastery that the child has obtained if they have taken any ABACUS tests. The Discipline pencil will show any discipline incidents that the student has had. It will show the date and the description of the incident. The Attendance pencil will show their attendance record.

The School Info will give information about the school and any announcements that the school may have. Since this program is new and Ponca City Schools is the first school system  in Oklahoma using this software, we are asking that you have patience and understanding.  We ask that if you find something that is not working properly, or you have suggestions to improve the software that you let us know as quickly as possible. We are trying to solve all of the problems as they occur.
